She is also a skilled public speaker and has been a voice for many voiceless communities in the media, particularly on human rights issues, telecommunications, and access to telecommunications. Some of her notable public speaking engagements have centered on conflict in African countries, migration, and women's rights issues. Lazola has also participated in drafting and finalizing policy submissions and policy monitoring for advocacy purposes. Her contributions in this area are especially noteworthy and include work on the Copyrights Amendment Bill, the Film and Publications Amendment Bill (which has since been admitted into law), and opposing RICA laws in South Africa as a form of protest against surveillance.
