Africa is the world’s second largest and second most-populous continent (behind Asia in both categories). At about 30.3 million km2 (11.7 million square miles) including adjacent islands, and home to 1.2 billion people man of them young, and accounts for about 16% of the world’s human population. With the current population growth rate, it is assumed that the population will double by the year 2030. Is Africa’s health care system ready for this? The continent has the fuel of human capital being an asset in economic growth. However, this can only be the case if the population in question is healthy. We are all about voicing and discussing the various healthcare sectors and highlighting the challenges within the continent.
